SO CUTE. we just got some teas and they were good but not phenomenal, but the FOOD they offer is actually very good quality I was so surprised with how tasty it was! and the vibe definitely makes the visit here worth it. they have a little japanese style private room which is where we sat, outdoor seating and normal seating. they also have free wifi. staff was very nice. quick service despite long lines. they have free private parking but if lot gets full there is also free street parking available.
I’ve been hearing a lot of good reviews about this place so decided to give it a try last weekend. First of all, they have a huge parking lot, but the entrance is a bit hidden on the right side.
Upon entering, I found the place playing a pretty basic Japanese fusion diner vibe. You basically get to pick your own table and then place your order by the counter. I tried their lunch menu and matcha. Lunch sets were alright, the katsu pork curry bowl was pretty good, but the chicken karaage was just ok.
My favorite thing from Sa Ten was actually their rose matcha latte. It was beautifully presented and tasted really yummy.
I’m giving a 3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ bc this particular store is a bit old and not super comfy.
Brilliant vegan curry with actually seasonal vegetables (that were worth the price). They even added okra! The cashier was very welcoming, as it was my first visit. Got the order very quick and everything was well heated. My dish was the grilled tofu bowl. I don’t feel that heavy after finishing. Will be coming back here if I am digging curry again! Well done Sa-tén.
Just like their other location on east Austin, Sa-Ten continues to knock it out of the park. Love the food and coffee options. The katsu is my favorite with Japanese curry as a side, potato salad is a fantastic extra side.
Really nice coffee shop and eatery. Great selection of food with different tastes and diet options for everybody. I had the sausage and waffle fries which was absolutely delicious. My coffee was great too and free refills with drip coffee. Nice space with good natural and artificial lighting. Also a good environment for both studying and chatting.
This was the home of Komé which has moved down the street. What always felt like too small of a space for a restaurant works wonderfully well as a coffee shop/eatery. The menu is Japanese focused and the menu has good offerings for vegetarians and people looking for gluten free. Nice seasonal drinks and the food I got was tasty. Nice relaxing atmosphere for working or just hanging. My only minuses are the parking lot is super small and they are on the opposite side of town from where I live.
Love this cute little Japanese cafe. Everything was good and our favorite was the egg salad sandwich. Everything was made fresh. The girl who helped us was very sweet.
Stopped in on a Saturday morning for a late breakfast. I got lavender black tea and a smoked salmon toast, my dining companion tried the egg and sausage toast and a Chai latte. Both toasts and drinks were exceptional. As a tea lover I appreciated their selection: lattes, green teas, black teas and more!
The bread used for the toast is super thick and fluffy. The egg toast was topped with an egg salad and the smoked salmon toast was more of a smoked salmon spread.
The ambiance is very relaxed, and the service was quick and friendly. I can see myself becoming a regular here, it was just that good.
